I checked the advanced website, I have no idea what that thing you bought is lol. I mean it may be a purge valve for something but it's definitely not a purge valve for a 1998 ranger.
Whether they mislabeled a Vent valve as a Purge valve, or that's from an older system that somehow ended up listed for a 98 I have no clue.
When I worked there they changed a lot of the bwd products over to carquest and something could of happened during that process but I'm not sure either. It was one of the first ones that showed up when they looked it up in there computer when I picked it up also. I'm just as confused man haha
