I recently replaced the heads on my. 1999 push rod 4.0. I was guided by an "experienced mechanic" of 30 years. One bolt wouldnt tighten during the second sequence of torquing. the head. My guide assured me that it was no big deal. Well it was a big deal because now that head gasket is leaking. My question is can i put a stud in where the threads are pulled. A helicoil isnt a option because i wouldnt be able to drill with the engine in and ill srcap the truck before i pull the engine.

Pretty cool tool! Depending how deep the hole I might try with the head on using a regular heli-coil or equivalent. But one thing I don't agree with is running the tap down without backing up every 3/4 turn or so to help break up the chips. I was taught that you get a better thread that way tho it may be that it doesn't matter because of the heli-coil.
Anyways, good luck,

Richard
