Does anybody know what transfer cases had PTO shafts? I know a Chevy that had one, but what about Ford?

Thanks,
Tim

Optional or all of them? I didn't think a 205 had them.

Edit:
Did some internet browsing, this is what I'm looking for. PTO outputs, twinstick upgrades, and bulletproof. Now I just need to get it behind an M5OD.

After more browsing this could be very nice.

NP205 w/203 , with a triple stick setup, but may need another for the PTO...thats a lot of sticks in the cab. Maybe I'll not put an M5OD in, save getting confused and grabbing the wrong stick. :icon_twisted:

Hmmm, yeah, guess I walked into that one.

Browsing around some more and found they have a disk brake for it for the e brake system. You guys probably already knew, but I thought it was cool. I won't have to fab up something on the rear axle to work as an e brake now.

It just keeps getting better and better!

I've seen a few early broncos with them also. so they can be had for dana 20's also.

You are looking for T-cases with the 6-bolt SAE plate on them for adding a PTO. Very few came with a PTO, but the ability to add one is in all NP205s. You can buy a PTO unit, remove the plate and bolt it where the plate was. It's common on heavy-duty manual trannies as well. It's often on both sides of a tranny. The PTO has a lever that you can cable operate. There's no clutch so it has to be in neutral to start the PTO. You generally use a push-pull on the dash. Running a hydraulic pump, mixer (which I used as a kid working for a lawn company), spreader, generator/welder (used one once in the service) and such. Even a winch, I've seen. But look for the plate. Not many pickups would have the PTO plate anymore I don't think.

Yeah thats what I gathered while searching around. The six bolt will be the one I'm going to try to get, then find an aftermarket PTO.

From what I understand, if I get a 78-79 donor Bronco/F-150 for the axles, it will also have the NP205 case; am I right in thinking this(saw it on another site)?

Cable operated will be good, one less lever on the floor. :D

Thats the plan right now, use the PTO to drive a hydualic pump, just need to find one with the capacity I will need (still need to run the calculations to get an exact size).

Yea all 78-79 fords had a 205 as long as it's part itme 4x4 it will have 203 if its full time. If you buy a new pto the place you get it can calculate the right one for you before you order it.

Cool, thanks.

I plan on doing some custom stuff with it so I'll probably just run the numbers myself; won't be to hard, just need to get some basic info from the pumps and motors I'll be using.

Thanks for the help guys! :icon_thumby:
