I had a 94 Mazda 2x4 B2300 (2.3L 4Banger) Ext. cab Std trans, dropped on me, Not in bad Cond. Engine had 410,000K on it and needed to be replaced The Dash, Seats, Carpet and engine were all gutted when i got it and i been looking around for a replacement engine and insides for it, The answer came online when i found a guy selling his written off 2008 4x4 mazda B4000 Std. Trans(4.0L v6) online for cheap 60,000k on the motor, The engine is Turn key/Run but the front end was it smashed and the front axle/wheel was broken bad, to install that engine and tranny(dash is in negotiation) into my truck I'm gunna need:
:icon_welder:
Almost/if not everything under the hood
Drivetrain /Axel
Indash wiring/computer

Foreseeable needs:

I can only I'magin I'm gunna need a drive shaft from a 2WD truck of the same year/ Ext. Cab, I can only I'magin Ford/Mazda gunna try and sell me one(when i wont be able to find one) for 1000$ so i may have to go the way of custom creation there

If i cant get the dash I'm gunna take one out of a 97 mazda b4000 ranger i found in a junkyard, major rewiring to follow as i install the wiring kit/computer from the 2008

Is there anything else? <-- Question #1

Does the body frame inside the 2008 have the same dI'mensions as the 94, Is this swap possible? i know there is going to be metal fabrication needs for various dash brackets? I'm almost positive the 97 is almost a complete match via brackets already but the 2008 is a much nicer dash and probably worth the extra effort <-- Question #2

Clutch cable compatibility? any forseable problems? <-- Question #3

I do believe I will need to take the or make the exhaust

Engine mounting brackets! the ones on the 08 Mazda are they compatible with the 94 frame? or did changes happen between 94 and 08(feel dumb even asking that, probably yes!) <-- Question #4

and the last question: i do believe the bolt patterns on the 08 are different then the 94 once i install a new rear axle, how do i convert the bolt patterns on the front to match(yet do do research there?) <-- Question #5

Thanks for your time and consideration on my questions :) :icon_hornsup:

1. the firewalls are different between the 94 and 95+, so some cutting and weldding is involved. your i4 2wd trans will not work on the 4.0 so you need a tranny from any 4.0 from 90+ and a flywheel from 98? +(changed to 7 bolts from 6). 95-2010 dashes are the same minus wiring same for 95-01 explorers in a ranger

2. 83-2010 frames are the same from the firewall back, in 98 they changed for ifs so the 2 radiator supprt bolts are different.

3. no clutch cable all hydrolic just like any year ranger pretty much.

4.you need 2wd 4.0 mounts for a 90-97 ranger, then it will bolt in

5. direct bolt in and same lug pattern

there is a gen 1 ranger on here 83-88, with a 4.0 SOHC and dash swap, same procedures for your 94.
