I bought this truck for $1000 after my other vehicle had nailed a deer.

I bought the truck with 200,000 km's on it, and I've only had it for one short year. Since I bought it I have put on over 83,000 km's on it, pulled many people out of the ditch, and bombed around the great province of Saskatchewan with it.

I plan on lifting it a total of 8", 33" tires and doing a front/rear diff swap (8.8 and D35 or a SAS) and DD'ing the truck and running a few off road places in the sask, alberta, and B.C. area.

some specs on the truck
1989 Ranger STX
2.9L V6
A4LD
Manual hub swap
4.10 gears
235/75R15 tires (31's this spring)
after-market Tach
Xplode deck
Pioneer speakers
2 - 12" kicker comp subs and a 400.1X amp
2.5% rear tinted windows
2.5" side exit exhaust
3 cone air filter

Right now the truck is getting the engine rebuilt (cracked heads...) but still runs like a top. Anyways here is what the truck looked like before when I bought it and where it is today

I like your roll up the sleeves attitude.I would put a cup wire brush on a 4" grinder not to stiff and have a go at that back bumper again.

I was thinking about it but I have some 4"x4" tubing for the rear bumper sitting in my garage but its over 2 hours away with no cash on a student budget

Well the motor finally blew up on the truck. Popped both HG's and cracked both heads, so I'm bitting the bullet and dropping in a 351W with an AOD behind it... I also went out and bought another RBV the day it blew... a 1988 Bronco II, manual hubs/5 speed/manual 4x4... so thats gunna be my next project once I wedge the 351W in the truck and get my mustang up and running...

With the rot in the fenders you might want to look at using fiberglass pre-runner fenders. I had thought about using some on my B2 (eventhough I have no rot) jus so I don't have tire/fender issues with my negative offset wheel

Good luck on your truck man :) My truck is simular to urs, only its a reg cab. Has same rust on fenders but mine thankfully doesnt have it everywhere else. The previous owner i think just painted over the rust on the bumper since its starting to show thru, but whatever lol. Where in SK are u?

Right now I'm in Moose Jaw taking automotive service tech courses. When I'm not there I'm all over Saskatchewan.

Sweet i live in Moose Jaw. I think its a cool lil city :P Not a whole lot to do tho

What lift were you going to go with?

Junk yard lift, chevy rear springs, bellech shackles, dana 44 or some SFA for the ranger and some JY set up for the front lift.

And moose jaw is pretty boring... Unless your the liquor store owners out here
