Are you sure it didn't crack a head? Mine was cracked and I couldn't see any cracks visually. And you did at least replace the head bolts with new ones, right? :icon_twisted:

lol, well not neccessarily, the ones that were bad and rusty looking i took off the donor bronco she got all new bolts just before she was put up by the guy who owned her so im using them lol
 
Well, they are TTY, so the headgaskets may just fail again, as you won't be able to a 100% accurate torqu setting...

You need to get new bolts buddy, if they have been torqued down already.
 
well ill leave it like it is for now cause its pretty much all re assembled if anything breaks ill reaplace but theyre already on except for one side if they break then im willing to take the chance lol

also is it possible to convert EFI to Carb? if so what does it take and i know it probably wont be easy but im willing to give it a go if i get some pointers and it isnt too hard, also i posted about it in the "other engine conversions" forum

Anything is possible.....but why?

You would need a new intake manifold and the carb to go with it, not sure where you would get your hands on one. And then you have to figure oout how to get the computer happy without it's TPS, MAP, IAC, Injectors...etc.

Or just convert to duraspark...but then you may as well take a step backwards and throw in 2.8.

just need to re-thread the bolt for the valve cover and get her back together and new gasket on and that bumper will be in the woods and no time, oh yea ill also be getting my body lift too :D

So did you just throw head gaskets on your 2.9? If so that's not really rebuilt... also did you clean the valve covers before you painted them? Or are they just really freakin rusty?

lol its k i did clean them but theyre so rusty cause they were kind left on my bridge and i didnt know it was raining, that and the fact that iwasted gas over them while cleaning off around the cyl heads.

and no its not really rebuilt but i did more then head gaskets i had both parts of intake manifold off and cleaned like a jew and i got the cyl heads all cleaned up inside and the block cleaned up so not completely rebuilt..

o yea and i got another spare hatch along with the truck, along with a extra engine, cyl head, complete front end, 2 tranys, y pipe that im gonna make dull exhaust out of with my bro, 4 shocks, and many extras, lol
