project family wheeler. chop top 1 ton explorer.

Josh look at the before picture of where they came togather at, there was over an inch difference in the width of the hatch and the body right behind the door.

Had to use a buddy's sheet metal roller and roll a few pieces and twist them up to fit the contour of both. I cut the 10g right on the corner of the round hatch so with some grinding and a little bond it should look just about factory.

After looking at mine and the red one I posted a while back he did the same exact thing.

Was a bitch, not looking foreword to the other side and the top corners they won't be fun at all.

At least your hatch is metal

True, i just would have built a wall and skinned it if it were fiberglass.

Damn, that looks good Slo-Vo. I'd better subscribe to this thread......

ok. I was wondering what gauge and how you got the sweet roll in it.

Awesome Awesome Awesome.

it was an enco roller, really the metal was too thick for it. the roll was alot tighter on the end closest to the frame because it was bopwing the rollers. but the 10g is pretty easily worked by hand so it worked out that all i needed was the general shape and i worked the rest by hand and a dead blow.

i really like how he made the interior look good too.

Jon, what are you going to do about the "bed"? use a ranger bed floor and sides or just sheet them?

It's looking good!

There isn't a ton of info or pictures anymore (old thread... '05) but here is Russ's (red explorer) thread on EF.
