so when i was four wheeling this last weekend my 4wheel drive worked but when at times when i was stuck or stopped my front wheels wouldnt turn even though i could feel it locked in then i would get out and they were turn again. any ideas on this??

Electric t-case, right? If so, when you flip the switch does the light on the dash come on? I'd be willing to bet your hubs are bad. The 98-00 Rangers have vacuum hubs, which means that the hubs are locked and unlocked by using vacuum to do so. This setup is prone to leaking, which then would cause your hubs to not lock into place. Manual hubs will fix this problem, which you can find on eBay or Tellico 4x4.

Oh and check out the Tech Library, theres a whole section dedicated to hubs and stuff in the middle column about halfway down

thanks all you said is happening so i will give that a shot

so do i need the whole kit or just the pair??

i just installed manual hubs (the avm or rugged ridge ones, they are the same) http://www.baseline4x4.com/proddetail.asp?prod=15001.70they cast about 150 shipped and about 10 minutes a side to replace, sjut popped right off, slapped the neew ones on and away ai went. if you have a bad axel seal, i would reccomend replaceing that to keep the new hubs in good working order but if they are good, it is a simple fast procedure. highly recommended!!!

Hate to start an argument here, but my 2000 (blt 12/99) has the live axle setup (no hubs) so it may be something other than the hubs. Just my 2 cents.
