I just thought about the cig lighter, but it's on 100% of the time even when the key is gone. I would like to make it work the same way the radio do. Do i plug it in the fuse box ? Should i add a new fuse or use the same one as the radio use.
If some people have a other tread or web page to show me, it would be apreciated. Because really electrical and electronic stuff is my beast, and i dont know anything about how it works beside the red and black wire, lol :D

if you can find the wire coming from your radio that turns it on with the key just run it to a relay to turn power to your cb on if your gonna leave it on all the time.

You could turn off your cb when you leave the vehicle :D or find that keyed power wire for your radio

What in the world is the problem with the cigarette lighter being hot all the time? The CB radio draws 0 amps when turned off and about .2 amps when just turned on.....about 1-2 amps when keyed.

Mine is pluged into the cig lighter when I take it along. I just turn off the cb when not in use. The only thing wrong with running the cb into the hot wire on the radio is that you have to turn on the ingnition to use the cb.

Mine is wired right to the cig lighter hot wire. I just turn it off.

I originally wired mine to my radio with a wire tap so I couldnt turn the engine off and leave the cb on and kill my battery. I had some problems with interference/noise in the cb speaker so I just hooked it to the battery anyway.
