Just a Diesel Mechanic now, Thats what I went to school for but my last job was doing this
First pic was a view from my office pushing a load somewhere between Houston TX and Edmonton AB.
Second was doing the same thing but they wanted my pulling the pulling the pull truck on this gravel road for what reason I can't recall but it was still fun. Just hated being away from the wife for 3 months a crack.
Last one was the same load making a turn in a little town in eastern WY. Had to pull him around this corner to after he spun out.

I paint at a collision shop for a living, but my first job when I got out of Wyotech was at a restoration shop..

Just a few of the cars we did while I was there..

This car went around the show scene in 2006, made the great 8 at the Detroit Autorama, on the cover of numerous magazines, and then sold at Barrett Jackson in 2007 for half of what it cost to build, lol.

'29 Model A

'59 Fuel Injected Vette, we did get it painted before I left, but I didn't get any pictures unfortunately.

'66 427ci/435hp Vette, someone had customized it, wrecked it, and forgotten about it. It had about 4 different paintjobs on it, including some heavy yellow/green metal flake job, which made stripping it fun, glitter EVERYWHERE.

The frame needed some serious repair, but here it is all done and assembled, we hadn't really started on the body before I left so this is all I got.

'66 327 Vette that we just painted, guy brought it to us stripped, we replaced a quarter panel and a front lower panel, and painted it up.

'54 Vette and we just r&i'd the engine, and sent it out for the rebuild, my boss was constantly trying to talk the guy into re-restoring it, but we never did while I was there.

I went onto collision shops from there, this is about the only interesting thing I've done in the past 3 1/2 years..'74 Duster at the last shop I worked at. Painted it Panther Pink.

i hear commercial diving is big money, wouldnt mind getting into it if the wife would let me.

If you can do commercial diving and underwater welding you will be a rich Mo Fo. I know a guy who does it for a living they fly him all over the world to weld under water oil pipe lines, And the underside of ships. He in alaska now working on some ships.

Keep working on her it's a hell of alot safer than it used to be, except the states has really lax safety standards for some reason.

I can find out he lives in Kenton, Ohio when he's home. LOL I talk to him on Facebook all the time. He used to work with me at AGC but he left to go back to welding in december. Last I heard he was in alaska. He has a drag built Duster, a '70 'cuda and a '01 mustang GT. Plus a beat up S10 for the winter. He is actually think about moving to alaska he used to be stationed there when he was in the miltary. I offerd to take the duster off his hands so i could baby set it for him while he's gone but he hasn't fallen for it yet.

Underwater welding is still insanly dangerous. When I looked into it a couple of years ago the lifespan for an underwater welder was just 2 years. That is life-span, not career-span.

That being said, they make the big bucks. I went to school with a guy who does it and he made damn near $300k in 6 months, serving 2 weeks at a time in a capsule TIG welding on a pipeline.

I'm glad my lifespan is longer than 2 years. I'm currently working as an EMT, but I have some pictures from working as a fire technician as well.

Underwater welding is still insanly dangerous. When I looked into it a couple of years ago the lifespan for an underwater welder was just 2 years. That is life-span, not career-span.

2 years? guess it depends on the type of work, where you are and what kind of company you work for, i know thats not the case up here
