My 88 B2 Project

I just started working on it, the B2 had 33" tsl's but they were worn out so I broke down and caught a good deal on a set of Super Swamper TSL SX 36" tires with a 6" Lift. I will update more pics as the project continues. It has a 5 spd with the 2.9l but I am about to swap to a 4.0 until I can afford to do a legit 5.0 swap or maybe try something crazy like a ecoboost F-150 motor >.<

Anyways here are the first pics I have posted on here of it.

It's not for sale I just haven't had a chance to clean it off yet lol

nice!
the 4.0 swap will be great
the 5.0 swap is more money than worth IMO...

now the ecoboost, go for it! now!

That bumper is huge!

Yeah it is pretty big but I think it will look a lot better once I can mount a winch inside it with a lead coming out the center. It came on the truck when I got it but it seems pretty functional.

if you havent nicknamed it yet....i think dozer would be appropriate.

Seems to me that the 4.0 swap is more trouble than it's worth. The electrical would be a night mare, while the 5.0 would be a breeze in comparison.

Just sayin'.

Now the ecoboost, that would be a worthy project.

I know where I can get an explorer 5.0 (gt40), transmission, and transfer case... The problem comes in I don't want to buy the JD adapter, what I want to know is if I can just use explorer tranny and transfer case and just get driveshafts to fit and fab a new tranny crossmember. The reason I want to do this is because I have a set of early bronco axles dana 44 and ford 9" so it really would be a perfect combo! If I could find a decent price on an ecoboost and 4x4 transmission I would def do it, but I need to wait till the price drops alittle.

Man, if you can get a 5.0 drivetrain, i'd jump all over that. The only thing you'll need is motor mounts and driveshafts for the drivetrain, and a computer from an '89 f-150 with a 5.0. Add 2 new wires for the fuel injectors (they're batch fired, so you just need to splice in an extra wire per side) and go on down the road.

Well in that case I guess I will be picking up that 5.0 setup... I measured my lift and found out I have 7" (3 body/4 suspension) Im gonna try to get away with not having to use the oil filter relocation kit but from what I have read most people need it. Im still in college so I have to keep it on somewhat of a budget lol... I may be getting in over my head but I guess I will have to get used to eating ramen lol!!!

I cleaned it up and pulled the 2.9l this past weekend so its basically ready to drop in!!!

The body lift should give you plenty of room. The oil filter relocator isn't too expensive, but if you can get by without, then good on ya.
That's a good lookin truck. I wish mine was in as good a shape, but after 330,000 miles of Indiana winters, she's a bit rusty.
