Possible Resto Project

I went Expo in the 05, I think this time I am going to go Mustang this time around. Will Torque Monsters work this time around?

600 hp in a gen 1 short box, standard cab? Yea that is going to be cool. But it is also going to be scary. You'll need to do some beefing up on the frame to handle that much hp. Put an 8" in the rear, which goes without saying, narrow and tub it to fit some big wide 50 series tires under the fenders. If your going to put that much hp in it you better pro street that thing!:icon_thumby: But please........ No Wheelie bars!

Edit: Consider a full cage also.

If I were you I would drop it 2/3 but put some stiffer springs up front to handle the weight of the 5.0 and get some big ass tires and throw them out back. Cage it and put a fuel cell in the bed.

I think the earliest the TM's work in is a '95' but that means you could go with them Hooker long tubes people have mentioned. The TM's only have the 1 1/2" tubes. With a 157T bellhousing you also have the option to go with the Tri-Y headers. You mention going with Mustang rear this time, one of the newer ones with the discs and the 31 spline? I know they are pretty wide for the early Rangers and have the centered pinion but narrowing the passenger side might be enough to give you the right width and off-set. Sounds like just another fun project!

I think I will get with Pete on this one as well. I think he is running a Mustang drive train with an Expo 8.8. Every way I am going to have plenty of space to do this. The barn at the house I am looking at has PLENTY of room for my projects. :icon_thumby:

I think I am going to do a 347 stroker w/ APF heads and a descent cam. Pete said to get a wrecked 91-93 Mustang GT for a good starting point.

APF heads? Never heard of them. AFR's are good.
Dave

Yeah that is probably what he said.
