Possible larger oil filter?

I was wondering if anyone has knowledge about installation of a larger capacity oil filter than the original, on a 2008 with the 2.3 DOHC

What is the original filter? If it is an FL-400S then I'm 99% sure an FL-1A will go right on.

FL400S and FL1A should fit. Problem is they stick down farther and are more prone to damage.

Just did 1st oil and filter change on my 2009 2.3 and the filter on it was FOMOCO EFL-910 made in the UK.....it was little bigger (length) than the Motorcraft FL-910 that owners manual calls for. Not sure if there is a bigger cap. filter but must be careful about relief vvl pressures of other filters, they might not be compatible.
