Portable jump starters

I got the tire inflator similar to that from Harbor Freight. So far, it’s been good. It has no ability to run off the cigarette light though. My guess is it draws to much power and would blow the fuse.

I never been around an ARB or similar high end compressors. So I don’t know how it compares but it does inflate a tire pretty quick.

the little ARB compressor doesn't work as well as those harbor freight ones for a tire. i snagged an open box dual compressor and that is a different animal

I have a NOCO GB40 I believe...works OK... not super impressed with it in very cold weather. I keep it indoors and charged and it did not have enough juice to start my Explorer at below zero temps. It's one of the smaller ones though (1000 amps.) I should have bought a bigger one.

As far as inflators go, I have a little Viair one. Will air up four 30" tires from 15psi to 35psi in about 20 minutes. I like it, my only complaint is that it gets really hot...kinda afraid to put it back in its little storage bag right away.

My compressor has a big warning on it not to put it back in the bag right after use. :icon_rofl:

I don’t have a battery jump box. Probably should. It just seems that i never need things like that and then when I do, they’re dead from not being used.

i have a Viair compressor and 3 gal tank system mounted in my Ranger. I have one if these in the Fun50.

That looks like winner. Price is right. Thanks friend. Looks like I need one of these in my truck

It came today. Feels pretty solid and well built, not typical flimsy chinese plastic even though it is made in china. Has a nice case and the adapters/wires are all decent. The LED lights are bright as hell, one side is a regular focused flashlight, the other side is a wide area work light. Perfect size too, it'll fit nicely in my console.

Don't have anything to jump start at the moment, I'll test it on my tractor later. If it can start that rust bucket it should be fine for my truck.

I see you guys are talking about inflators now, I've had my eye on the Milwaukee m12 one for a while now. I love Milwaukee and own WAAAAAAY too many of their tools. I've held off buying it because I tell myself "dude you have a compressor at home and most gas stations have free air". that being said my daily has this lovely little habit of losing air in its tires from time to time, just old aluminum rims oxidizing but I usually have 5 or 6 Milwaukee batteries banging around in the car for work and maybe....just maybe...I can convince myself that $100 for a tire inflator is worth it. Also, jump packs, I had one of those Autozone bigger jump boxes that saved my butt many times until it got "borrowed" from my unlocked car up at college. it was heavy and bulky but did its job well. Amazon.com: Booster PAC ES5000 1500 Peak Amp 12V Jump Starter: Automotive pretty sure this was it.

Dang... I haven't seen FREE AIR anywhere around here. Most of the air machines now will accept credit cards.

Around here, all the Sheetz stations seem to have free air. Doesn't seem like much of anyone else does though.

I get all the free air I need at atmospheric pressure. The minute I want it compressed, thats when people want money for it.

Stop paying your taxes and tell me air is "free".

Had a thought earlier today. Could probably run a little pancake compressor off of one of those power inverters from home depot. Would probably fill up your tire faster and be less prone to overheat.

You'd need a fairly substantial hard wired inverter and at that point you're spending more than the compressor just to power it. No way an inexpensive cigarette lighter powered inverter would do trick. A good pancake compressor pulls about 400 watts at 110v meaning the inverter would need to be rated above that and would be using like 35-40 amps from the 12v battery if my terrible math is right...
