Pontiac pickup

Mercury sold pickups in the U.S. until the Ford dealer council(I think) raised a stink and Ford agreed that Mercury wouldn't sell trucks anymore. I like the GTO nosed El Camino but those snowflake wheels on the other truck suck. A cooler phantom truck is a 57-59 Ranchero with a 58 Edsel nose. In high school, a guy everyone called Dirty Ernie left school Friday with a Studebaker Lark wagon and came back Monday with a Studebaker Lark pickup. Cool concept but awful workmanship.

There is at least one place in the US that does GTO UTE conversions, but I vaguely remember something sketchy about them related to the imports of Holden parts

I wish I had been able to of got a picture, last weekend I saw a S10 that was made to look like a pontiac. Had the wheels, grille, bulge hood with dual scoops, badging. Was about a ‘95 Id guess. 2wd extended cab.

Holden (GM) and Ford sold lots of utes in Australia. Sad to say, GM, Ford, and Toyota all stopped making cars there about five years ago because importing whole vehicles made more sense given the small market. Just in the past year the Holden name was killed outright as GM even stopped imports. It has withdrawn from a number of countries in Asia and the Pacific.

The outfit making utes using Holden parts here in the US will probably find parts supplies drying up soon, if that hasn't already happened.

Gm sold so much to china, thats probably why everything is getting killed. What was it, 51% of their company got sold to roc

Here’s Buicks attempt at a truck…
