Pneumatic tires for a rollaway tool chest?

Pull the drawer out, and using a small flat screwdriver unlock the lock clip on the side of the drawer slide, usually by lifting it out of the notch and moving it to the side. Once done on all slides (some larger drawers have 2 on each side), the drawer will just slide all the way out :icon_thumby:

A friend of mine did something many years ago since he had 50 acres of property to maintain and had several work shops around the property....he used his old John Deer riding lawn mower frame and built his tool chest (a huge one) onto the frame and he got around this way and he said it was great. He did not use it to mow anymore and it ran so good he did not want to seal it. I never saw a photo of it but his wife said it was really cool since my buddy used to to welding work when he was younger.

I gotta say Door Gunner's thoughts on using plywood is the winner here.

pneumatic tires are gonna cost you, and if you leave them sitting in the garage with all that weight on them eventually they will get a flat spot on them and make it a pain to roll accross concrete as well.

Just my thoughts...

Pneumatic tires will raise the center of gravity, and if not properly inflated, they they will buckle under the weight while turning, thus putting the box on it's side. Hopefully without you under it. It's a bad idea. I know a guy that did it at the shop I worked at, in Cali, and it ended badly. On multiple occasions..

I would be afraid of getting a flat. Lose a tire and I would wonder if it would lay the box over.
