PLEASE HELP NEED ADVICE!!!!blown 3.0

Hey i have a 2001 ford ranger xlt 3.0L v6 with a 5 speed... Waterpump had a huge failure long storey short now the head gasket is fried and possibly a warped head. The truck is a little ruff and i am broke and need to get it back on the road asap. I've been searching craigslist and junkyards looking for a motor no 3.0L's but i came across a few 2.3L's and 4.0L's do they bolt in? will they work with my trans? All the motors are complete with the ecu's so thats not an issue. please any advice or help send it my way.

With anything but the 3.0 you'll have to get a new trans as well. Taurus' have 3.0's in them and they are a pretty much a direct swap with the exception of gaskets and maybe a few other things. If you're interested I have a 3.0 in South Jersey, it is dissassembled from the top of the block up, so some new head gaskets and you could put the heads back on it and go to town. I'll let it go for $50.

P.S. Motor and heads have about 175K on it but ran fine when I pulled it. PM if you're interested.

why dont you replace the water pump, head gaskets, and get the heads milled??? it would probally be the easiest and cheapest???
