Planning Phases of a Trail Rig

time better spent in the garage then in the bar...mine dont get mad when I put it into prespective

Why not just stick with a 4.0 and go with a doubler? You nsaid it was for crawlin. So speed is not and issue. The money that you spent on building a 302 could go for the doubler.

302 on propane makes more power less wiring and if you did a dry sump pan probally would run upside down lol

something tells me if it's upside down... I don't wanna be running anymore! lol

Lol its just a nice piece of mind that if you roll it nd forget to shut it off it wont pop. Plus you can run on any extreme angle without losing oil pressure

Sounds like an awesome plan.

I know nothing about propane motor setups tho.

I just learned something too.

Propane is cheaper too, and you can get it most anywhere

I know theyre hard on valves so you need to have hardened seats or somthing.. my buddys switching to pane in his 302 ranger and a guy i sled pull with runs it in his 460

From what I heard once from a tv show, you can also run a higher compression ratio.

I do wonder what kind of mpg(?) a 302 would get running on propane.

sent with :guns, bows, and crossbows do not require ammo.

Propane gets a 1/3 less mpg and costs half as much, so you are still ahead. But you need a tank. I would probably find a f150/bronco with a 44/9 - 302 - c6 and use it as a donor. But i'm real cheap and I wouldn't want more than 35s anyhow. i know 37s would put a hurtin' on a 44.

You can run 39.5s on a dana 44 just fine even with a 302. My buddy has an eb 44 (with chromos) and 8.8 with the super 88 kit. Hasnt ever had a problem

Josh has a dana 44 under sgt ex and flogs it too on 39s

yeah, part of it's in how you drive...

I'm kinda torn right now between building the explorer or just getting a loan and getting a RZR900... I can use the Rzr for hunting and farm use, and it's easier to tow 5 hours to these off road parks....
