pitman arm question for a d44 swap

i'm running the cage 5.5" eb coils on an eb d44, what size drop pitman arm should i use. i've been reading that 5.5 lift gives you about 8" on a ranger. i also swapped out the factory steering for the 1 ton chevy tre's and dom tube. so thats on top of the knuckle instead of under.

what size drop pitman arm should i use.

Depends on how your trackbar is mounted.

Ideally you want both the trackbar and draglink to be as close to horizontal as possible with weight on the suspension. Get the trackbar as close as you can, then match it up with the appropriate pitman arm.

4 different arms available, each dropping in 2" increments:
stock Ranger 2WD (flat arm)
stock RBV 4WD
standard aftermarket drop arm
Skyjacker "extreme" drop arm (pt# FA600).

i'm going to wait to do the track bar until the steering is set up. i just wanted the ideal steering setup since this will see some highway driving and wanted to keep the steering from binding up in flex. i am thinking the standard lift 4"-6" pitman will work. i just was hoping someone with a similar setup could tell me how they like what they chose.

im running a flat pitman arm on mine with the chevy 1-ton steering on top of my knuckles... You should be good with the factory RBV pitman arm. The issue I had was the length of mine because my knuckles were 8 inches long on the steering arm and the stock pitman was only 5.5 inches long so i lost a ton of turning radius. Now im running a superduty pitman arm which is about 7 inches long so im back to stock ratio almost... but these are dodge knuckles.

I left the 4" pitman arm on for mock up and actually ended up using the stocker in the end. I'm also running 7" coils, like mentioned it all depends on your track bar setup.

I was looking into getting a longer pitman arm, or moving the axle forward but my tires rub the radius arms just barely at full lock so there's nothing to gain for me until I improve other area's....

thanks guys this is the first time i've went farther than buying a lift kit, and i don't know anyone around here that knows anything about this. i bought the procomp 3"-6" pitman last night. i'm going to try it out and see how that works, if not i'm sure i can find a stock one
