Pinto powered VW

Hey guys Hope everyone had a good holiday. I'm still new to the forum. I hope I'm putting this in the right section. I have a 62 VW baja bug. I just bolted up a 2.3 pinto motor up to the rear end. I used an esslinger racing adapter plate and rear facing header. The motor is all stock except for the exhaust and the removal of the smog pump and p/s pump. I was hoping i could get some input from you guys. I want to know what carb, dist, pully, ignition, cooling sytem, I should use. I'm very familiar with bugs and love them. My DD is a 91 ranger with a 2.3 so I wanted to bridge the gap with my Baja. Any suggestions would be great.

Your biggest problem is where to put the radiator and 'lectric fan. You may need another 50 or 100 lbs, low down, way up front to steer in the rain.

I had a pinto, but that was a long time ago.

Sorry can't be of help............but just wanted to say, seems like a KOOL project to me, as I like bein different myself!

It outta be a BLAST, as I had an instructor years ago that had a sandrail w/2.3L Pinto motor on it & that SOB would fly & not think twice bout gettin airborn on the sand dunes.........
