Picture Request! 3rd gen 31 in tires

Plus, the car was cheaper to buy than to buy a new set of Swampers next winter when they'd be bald as hell from driving at least 40 miles a day.

I def can hear the dog on the highway, if its windy and its not in my favor, its like pulling teeth to do 65-70. 4 and 5th gear=peddle to the floor 99.9999% of the time :shout:

I almost forgot, I do have a gas saver, My 07 Harley Dyna about 50 MPG not to bad :)
And its almost warm enough to start riding with out heated gear!!

You lucky dog. I wish!

It's already riding time here...ha ha

I went out last night and it was still cold enough for leather coat and gloves, I want the days where a t shirt will suffice. Maybe I should just move further south haha

My dad is a cop, so no trouble, and soon there will be another one since my brother is now becoming a cop as well.

You will actually notice a difference of about 5mpg once you go to 31's. I only run 33's for tails or school breaks, and go back to 31's for DD

Here is a pic of 2wd w/4in SL and 3in BL and 31's

maybe im opening an old post but you have 4.56 gears and are upset about gas mileage? A guy I knew had a 91 ranger with 2.3 and 33 inch mickey's he had 4.11 gears and pulled a 40 ft boat till he upgraded. with those tires and 4 banger the 4.11's moved without any effort and i had to let out the clutch without giving gas or it spun. your gearing is way too high even for those tires is why the bad gas. go witht eh 4.10 or 4.11 gearing and you wont have gas issues anymore.

Not sure what your friend has done to make his run so great, but the 91 is the gen 2, which weighs depending on the style, 2800-3200 lbs stock. and the gen 3 is 3000-3300 stock. If your buddies was a reg cab, mostlikley it hardly weighs over 3000, mine stock was 3300, but when I had it on the scales a few months ago it was 4000+, which is quite a bit more than 3300. So the 4.56 are actually just about right, but many on here have told me to go even higher. Also, when I had only 30 inch tires a few shops said that 4.10's wouldn't be worth the time, and the 4.56 were perfect.

lower RPM doesnt always translate into higher gas mileage. internal combustion motors achieve their best economy near their peak torque RPM...which is over 3,000 RPM for the 2.3. the closer you keep it to that rpm, the better your mileage will be.

and your buddy must have had his tires over inflated or something...i have nearly the same final ratio with my 31's and 3.73's and i have no problem finding traction on the street...and my truck has 26% more torque than your buddies does.

Same here, I was on the scales few weeks ago and it showed 4110 pounds.
