Photoshop Thread.

how the **** do i do white?

Select the red of the body alone, there are several methods. Then desaturate, then adjust brightness/contrast slowly and try not to lose the details or highlights. That should get you white or close to it. There are other ways, but too much detail to write out here.:icon_thumby:

Hazmat, I know you know this; but you are good at what you do.
I really appreciate the work you have done for me.

Ahhhh shucks  thanks tarryn and you are welcome.

hazmat, you got ryan, i'll do max and Mauricio, Mauricio's will be quite easy, should be about 5 minutes, Max's will take a little longer, but i am excited for that challenge!

Go get em man - no way to learn except to jump in and try it.

it looks good black i think
and maybe i will throw in the 3" bl if i find it one of these days

thanks Hazmat Ranger

You are welcome and I like the color and look of it lifted - BTW I gave you a 3" suspension lift.

in no way a show quality picture, but here it is...

the 2 biggest pains in the ass, 1) when the replace color tool f-ed up and wouldn't do ANYTHING, so i restarted PS and started over... and 2) removing the lettering from the truck (BLACK, and SILVER)

RSH, you're a pain in the ass... you're lucky you're an awesome guy!

so, because when you desaturate the red, it becomes the exact same shade of grey as the camo, it more or less just becomes a grey truck, so you have to select all of the red individually, then desaturate it, then lighten the grey to white... *sigh* here's what i had to manually select...

i just remembered there's a button to select all of one color :(

and just to show that it works, here's one done in about 15 minutes (vs about an hour for the last one)

worst part is, i don't even think it looks all that great... it needs some colour... now if you did the pattern with cadpad, then it would look sick...

anyways, now i away to bed, where i will sleep between 6.5 hours, and about 13 (depends on if my phone rings)

Great Job weezl - Like I mentioned before there are many ways of changing color. I should have said that once the color to change was selected, then copy it to a new layer or use a color adjustment layer. Check out a site called photshopchop - those guys make my work look like crayons on a bar napkin after 5 straight shots of Tequila.

that is soo awesome weezl!!

thanks a lot man!!!

now Hazmat, do that on my pic please :D

Weeeellll - I started by getting a higher resolution image of digi-camo.
Changed the colors of the camo to match RSH example using magic wand,
Sized camo sample to look proper,
Made a selection of the bed section and the area of the cab I wanted the camo on,
Copied the camo pattern using the bed selection,
positioned the camo properly on the truck,
I believe I used the multiply layer blending mode to allow the highlights show through,
Then I removed sections of the camo on the forward rocker as you can see to look like the red one,
For the SPORT logo, I found another pic from RSH of the sport decal, cut it out, made it a solid red color and overlayed onto the one on the bed to make it pop out.
I think that about covers it . . .

christ that sounds like a lot of work!

christ dude, the first one i did for RSH took me over an hour (after i figured out how to make white

weezl - LOL - after you get some time under your belt using it, you will find the short cuts and things that make it easier to do different mods.

RICO9 - I chose your fav angle, hard part was getting the colors all the same on the base layer - I got them close. Hope this works for ya . . .
