Peterson's Ultimate Adventure

The motor was actually purchased from AllanD on the site here, through Jim Oaks.... I started making phone calls when we got back to camp and Jim got me through to AllanD who had one roughly 80 miles away from the park we were at.

It's amazing what a small world it is (thanks to TRS network) and how people are willing to help each other out when in a bind!

exactly what i was thinking

After I filled the engine full of water and drug it back to camp, Andrew found me a used motor that was in the area. I didnt have the cash to buy it after finding out there was no Chevron's or Texaco's on the east coast. All of my mad money went into fuel instead of putting it on my Chevron card as planned. Fred from Warn took up a collection and bought me the motor. We then went to Allans place and picked up the motor. While the rest of the UA went on, my partner and I and a friend that helped us drive out from California towed the B2 to New Jersey and used a bay in an offroad shop to swap the motors. The motor had a broken alternator, tons of rust, 3 broken exhaust bolts and the intake was a bit different. So the 3 of us yanked the motor, stripped both down the the long blocks and then swapped them back in. 8 hours later, we were on the road to Virginia to meet up with the rest of the group. They even let our friend ride along on the last day since he helped us out. It was one hell of a week! :icon_thumby:

that is just freaking awesome. Maybe next year I will be able to take out D-Ranged to the UA. Its always been my dream to go, and now that I know Midsized fords are finally welcome, I'm definitely applying.

Wooo Hooo!! The December issue is out...RBV's tearing up the east coast! :yahoo:

Cool...I'm going to look for that one...hope you guys enjoyed the outing...

pretty much anything street legalish is welcome at ua.

The rule is that is supposed to be legal in your homestate. Some of them looked pretty questionable to California standards. The east coast has some really crazy lift laws...I was breaking quite a few of them! I cant imagine driving the green buggy on the street and not getting pulled over in California. I have heard of people getting tickets from Arizona that drove their street legal sand rails into CA.

That being said, it was your responsibility to be legal in the states we wheeled in and you would be responsible for any tickets...
