Yes, they have 02 sensors, as do the 2.0's. They are microprocessor controlled, and also have baro, engine coolant temp, sensors. It not only controls idle, but fuel flow, and thermactor control

I've seen 83-84 rangers that had a o2 sensor with a carb, they where really bad setup they had a computer and had serious cold start issues, and the carbs had a bad base plate warpage issue with time, the weber upgrade kit seen in lmc where the way to change this issue out
mine actually started really nice when cold, untill i blew the motor![]()
