PCM has a ground right?

I was wondering if anyone knows where the PCM is grounded to? I've heard that the PCM has it's own ground. Is that right?

I've pretty much replaced all of the ground wires on my Ranger, battery cables, alternator cable, starter, etc.

It's a 95 with the 2.3 and has a manual tranny. Thanks in advance.

Yeah.

There is a metal insert that slides into the bulkhead(firewall). The PCM slides into it. The metal insert should have a braided ground wire riveted to it.

Then that should go to either the studs that hold the cover on or the bulkhead, I can't seem to recall exactly witch, but it's towards the D-side for the PCM.

Sorry to sound so stupid, but where/what's a bulkhead. Is it the studs coming from the firewall that are used as a grounding point?

I've had my PCM out before and I don't remember there ever being a ground around there. I've got some routine maintenance to do over this weekend (that I'll be starting here very quickly) and I guess I'll add that to the list as well. THanks again.

Bulkhead= Firewall.

I'm being trained at a school "sponsered" by FORD. It's one of the funny terms. After realizing that they could be sued, beause the firewall isn't fire proof, they decided to use different terminology. But after hearing it so many times, it's stuck.

I think it goes to the stud...on the D-side...that holds the cover over the PCM. The stud holds the cover down....then the groung slides over that stud...then a nut holds the ground ring on the stud.
