Collect all the parts and peripheral devices
then, assemble motherboard in your cabinet, then connect the hard drive to mother board through data cable (connect the ports properly). then connect your ROM drive and other devices like RAM , Simos etc...

We have to build our PC with latest hardware and putting updated software so it can run fast.

They actually run faster if you put wheels on the bottom and drop a bigger Hard Drive in them...maybe a 455 or a turbo'd 2.3...only problem then is to transmit the Hard Drive torque to spin the wheels...maybe your civic transmission would work...you could use it as a Daily Driver and send e-mails at the same time...

There are many ways to mess this up. I am one of the people that actually do this in minimal clothing [if clothed at all], usually boxer shorts to help prevent static build up. That, along with an anti static wristband will help.

The basics are:
Touch no connectors at ANY time.
Be careful!
The memory [RAM] modules require up to 20-30 lbs of force to click into place.
make sure to get parts that will be compatable [check a compatability list].

Google 'pc building tips' and others along those lines, I find that the tutorials on howstuffworks.com, tigerdirect.com, and windowsdevcenter.com are great guides for beginners.
