pa speaker location

hey where did yall mount your pa speakers to? if you have pics post up so i can see.

I don't have one... but a good place to mount one would be behind your grille. Use the search feature to find "Hellas behind grille" or similar threads about people putting lights behind their grille... That's where I'd put the speaker if I had one.

Right behind the front license plate. It's completely invisible unless you're looking at it real up close at this angle and there's plenty of room for even a huge speaker like mine.

k thanks but the only problem i see with that is when i off road it getting mud and water in it. so where would be the best place for it since it will see mud?

In the cab...

Put it behind the grille, or in the engine compartment and it will be fine.

Mud and water will most likely damage the speaker if they get into it (ie, submerged or major wash). Mount it up as high as you can. I've done some installs for different law enforcment and emergency services groups, and on vehicles that may do any off-roading or see some deeper water, we put them as high as physically possible. Most crown vics are put just behind the grill facing outwards.

Mount it up high behind the grill. Unless you're doing major water crossing/fording, then it should be fine.

put it up on your light/roll bar between the lights. you get yourself into mud or water that deep, you'll need it to call for help!

I put mine on top of my skid plate underneath my motor. My truck doesn't see mud though so I wasn't that worried about water.

Not very well... there isn't any openings back there... near the headlights or grille would be your best option...

I disagree I have mine mounted mine towards the left rear of the engine bay and it works fine.

this would have been my suggestion. Most people never do submergence or water crossings, but if you had to this is the last place to get wet. Its also the most common place Ive seen them for pa's and car alarms. This way it also doesnt interfere with radiator airflow.
