I'm at my wits end with this code. When I first scanned the truck I figured it to be an easy fix and changed the front two O2 sensors just to be safe, even the the code showed only the passenger side was troublesome. Cleared the code and thought all was good. Well a few days later the check engine light came back on, and you guessed it P1132 code showed again. I started reading up on the possible causes and below is a list of what I have done so far. The truck also displays an idle drop and surge while sitting at a stop sign and the trans in drive. If I pop the trans in neutral or park the idle settles.

  • Tried a new passenger side front O2 sensor thinking the first one might be defective.
  • Replaced Temp Sender (Guage)
  • Replaced Temp Sensor
  • Replaced Throttle Position Sensor
  • Replaced PCV Valve
  • Sprayed Brake clean all over the place looking for vacuum leaks
  • Cleaned MAF sensor
  • Replaced EGR Pressure Feedback Sensor & The silicon hoses
  • No audible exhaust leaks

Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I know if I take it to the dealer they'll throw another o2 sensor in it, reset the code and I'll be back in a few days.

this might sound like a lot of work, but id try switching your 2 banks of injectors around. if you have a clogged injector, the code should move to the other bank. if it remains unchanged then we can likely rule out injectors.

your dealer is not going to just throw a new sensor in it and ship it. a good mechanic knows better than to make assumptions. a short datastreaming session would probably point a guy in the right direction...

A clogged injector would display the same rough idling whether the trans is in park or drive, yes?? The P1132 code tells me that whatever is going on its happening on the passenger side of the vehicle. The last time I scanned, it complained of a lean condition which leads me to believe I may have a vacuum leak, but I'll be damned if I can find it.....LOL

clogged injectors can be finicky. might also be a failing injector...who knows.

a too would have suspected a vacuum leak, but you said you had checked pretty thoroughly...

did you check around each injector and the upper and lower intake manifolds?

I'm pretty sure I sprayed around those areas, might be time to do the spray thing again though....

This issue remains unsolved..... in addition to the attempted remedies listed in the first post, I have now tried the following as well.

  • Removed Throttle Body and cleaned thoroughly, replaced gasket
  • Cleaned Air Filter Box and Installed New Air Filter
  • Performed Compression check, all cylinders tested right at 170
  • Performed Fuel Pressure check, 55psi with Key on, 60 PSI with engine started, rapped throttle and pressure remained at 60psi.
  • Checked that fuel pressure held, turned key on, gauge went to 55psi, turned key off and pressure held at 55psi for 10 minutes, which tells me injectors are not leaking
  • Installed new spark plugs, no single plug looked any different than the other, none fouled, none looked "Leaner" than another

This time when I checked the codes I had P1132 & P1131, o2 bank one sensor one, so now I'm getting both a lean and rich condition.....LOL!

Next I hooked the truck up to a Snap-On scanner, I made a Word file containing all the results, if you would like to download it and have a look HERE

Thanks again!!
