Well with the rising prices of gas, and the constant flow of bills, I'm having to sell my toy. My SAS'd explorer. That's final because when I break it or have to get new tires I can't afford it.

Which leads me to my dilemma, I still want to go fourwheeling. My DD is a 99 4x4 4.0 Ranger which is getting about ~18 mpg. But if I throw some 33s on her I'm sure that will decline.

So I'm debating buying a little 4cyl gas saver to drive when I can't afford the Ranger...

You guys/gals think I should buy the 4cyl or just put some money into the Ranger and save the extra cash??

Thanks!

Dunno. Never hurts to have an extra vehicle around, but you can buy a lot of parts for what it would cost to buy another truck- plus extra insurance, etc.

Ya after looking at a couple cars here in town, all garbage, I'm going to put some money in the Ranger and put the rest in the bank. Thanks!

Now do I want 33s or 31s.....

what gears are you running and is your ranger a auto or manual? I had a 88 b2 with 3.73s and a 5spd with 33 x15.50 tsl sx's with the 2.9 and was getting 18-22mpgs but I also babied it alot

I'm running 3.73s and its the 4.0/5spd. I am picking up some 31" BFG a/t tomorrow morning on black steelies :) I would have to get 33/10.5 and they aren't too common. I'm hoping to still get the same mileage with the 31s with my foot out of it
