I have been looking for a 4.0 ranger 4x4 supercab for months (1993-1995) . They are hard to find here . I ran across a Mazda B3000 4x4 super cab. The 2 major issues is I really want a 4.0 so I can run 33's. And the Truck has no air conditioning. How major of a job is doing the AC. I can get my hands on 2 4.0 95 explorers for donnar parts. Any input is appreciated

well, you are going to have to transfer everything as far as the A/C goes. the heater box and evaporator box. compressor, condensor, all the lines. controls. etc etc. it's quite a task

You don't need a 4.0 to run 33s, you just need to regear to the proper ratio (4.88).

(you'd probably want to regear the 4.0L as well, in which case it would be 4.56)

I love having the 4.0 in my 97, i alos hate the a.c. I hate the a.c. because it doesnt work and i have found that i really dont miss it. Im from illinois and there have been days that the a.c. would have been nice but honetly the hassle of having to fix it, much less swap it in, just doest seem worth it, the cabs on the supers flow air really well, im generally plenty cool and comfortable as long as my rear slider is open.

As long you were the one that felt tiny and she had no complaints then its all good.

I ran 36's on a 2.3L 4cyl for three years, and I actually wheeled the truck.
