Online repair manual?

I'll be picking up a '93 Ford Ranger today to use as my winter transport while my motorcycle is inoperable. Is there any place where I can download or view a service manual online? I did a quick search via Google and here on the forum and didn't turn up anything.

I'm just looking for the basic stuff. I've got a year of wrenching on the bike under my belt but never worked on a car before. I'd like to have a manual before I even attempt basic service but I prefer digital. For pay resources are cool; I'll buy the hardcopy if I have to but I just prefer having a PDF.

Well you can just go to your local auto parts store and pick up a Haynes manual. That will give you pretty basic information. Or you can go for the ford factory service manuals which are pretty intensive. Let us know what shape the ranger is in, and what things need to be done. More than likely you can find info for most repairs by using the search in this forum.

Sweet, thanks! I didn't realize that auto stores kept all the different makes and models stocked. They don't do that at bike shops, I've had to special order them. I've got the local parts store holding one for me behind the counter and I'll pick it up after work.

Oh, and the truck is in good condition for it's age. Nothing terribly wrong with it. The gas gauge doesn't work right now so that'll probably be my first project.

Inoperable is probably the wrong word; nothing's wrong with it. I live in the DC area and it's starting to get cold around here. More and more mornings are below 30 degrees and it's just not as much fun to commute by bike.

Understandable. I'm not that far from you, about four hours SW in Roanoke, VA. I rode Tuesday and Thursday when it was just over 30, but it's a pretty short commute. With the right gear you can go all day long in those temperatures.

There is an online service called ALL-Data I've used em for a mopar product and its o.k. . The info is available for a fee and is user friendly.
I have brought the ford service manuals and there's some really awesome info about alsorts of ways to view the different appliances found on the ranger;as well as some crossover info on the same devise found on simular ford products. I found my manuals on e-bait and the cost was reasonable.

I don't know if anybody has mentioned, Your local public library has both Hayes and Chilton's books. It's neat to see different formats addressing the ranger.
I sometimes use the photo copier and make copies which I can refer to easily
rather than mark up my key-board or text with oily prints.

PS: I'm near Atlantic City and I'm rid'in till the ice forms!

all data uses the same diagrams, etc as the ford manuals. I've had the 2 side by side to compare.

A library usually has access to it.

ahhh thanks iv been trying to get to that for ages. i got logged it but its leaving me at a seach area and i cannot find the auto repair guide like the one that we had in the submit tech fourm with the direct link to it.
