On-line repair manual -- working password

I am editing this one to see if it can be done to update a title...but also because I found an alternative User ID and password...

Try this to see if it gets you in...

http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=url,uid

User name = c3687625
Password = password

I did this initially at the library because I thought it was free...but they no longer offer this at my library...but I was able to access the site and when I logged in at the library it appeared that some of the information was no longer available...I could not access anything older than 1993 Ranger...(did not try other vehicles)

So when I got home last night I tried it on my computer...checked the 1988 2.0 Ranger vehicle and it all seemed to be there just fine...

Might be a temporary way to get in...I would like to find a way to store that resource off line...:icon_confused:

Maybe someone with more understanding of how these things work can figure out a way to copy the entire Ranger resources over...:icon_idea:

EDIT: Oh, and I can't take credit for cracking or hacking into the site through sheer brain power...I happened to find a site with a list of potential passwords...Einstein I'm NOT....

I tried it again and was able to access it...

So far so good...but I will see about alternate user id and passwords also...nothing like preparing for things...:)

Cool, works for me :)

Great!...thanks for the feedback...I was hoping someone else could confirm...still looking for other alternatives...:)

worked for me as well, trouble is how long before someone catches on and deletes those user ID's and passwords again :(.

As for offline access I'm not sure how that would work either as far as being able to download it and have it on your computer.

Thanks again for the feedback...just a matter of time, really...this is about the fifth time they've shut us out with a password change but the first time I couldn't get to it from my local library (but I did eventually via the new password).

One thing I noticed is that most of the docs are actually PDF files that I was able to download...but it's a one by one process that would take me forever. So if you think you might need something...download while it's available...

My thinking was that if Jim approached them about having it on his website they might concede to allowing us access...(dreaming again) That might involve fees etcetera...but that could be an easy way to encourage members to buy into supporting the site and getting an excellent on-line information source.

Premium Members would get access to the site with their membership fees...but we'd need to know how much they would charge...and that may be prohibitive...and nothing really to stop a PM from giving the password to friends free...but I would hold integrity higher than animosity...initially.

Or we could get a Ranger only database...or Ford only database...and maybe Ford would chip in the first year...(dreaming here)...

Might be ways around or through it that would give us better access without the down time.

not that slipping to page two is a big deal...but it helps to not have to search...

going to put this link into my sig...

It still works.. download a few wiring diagrams for the mustang but it seems to be missing stuff for the rbv's.. still an awesome resource.

Where do you find the service manuals? I just see and option to search EBSCOs database.
Thanks

No longer works as far as I know

Yes, I also couldn't find the link to auto repair section
