old people keep unplugging my truck

if you had a key fob with an alarm you could sit and watch, and as they unplug the chord, set off the alarm.

or a note that reads "smile, youre on camera"

You could also (takes a bit, but it IS considered to be a theft deterent, and protecting ones' property is still legal (for now)) take a washer, tie a piece of dental floss to it, then with the alarm OFF, set the washer on the hood trigger pin, tie the floss to the plug on the cord, shut the hood. Now, you might have to play with the washer thickness to get it to slide off the trigger when the plug is pulled (now, THERE'S a thought for the ol' neighbors, eh?) to trigger the alarm, but that should slow down the culprit.

I have to ask. What is being plugged in for? Do you have an EV Ranger, is it an engine block warmer, or battery charger?

hmm... maybe its just a fluke? you know old people get up super freaking early, maybe its just some guy thinking hes doing you a favor? set up a camera thats the only way you'll know.

Well, I would assume its a block heater... he might even have a diesel pickup too...

Yeah my block heater. I was told by someone today that its not 1 but 3 old people that have ganged up against me...guess they don't like my truck.

lol thats awesome!! i have a question how were you able to move into an old folks home?

IIRC they do make lockable plug protectors, might be worth investing in. I believe you can get clear plastic ones that mount around the outlet on the building and only have a notch for the cord to exit the box, they'd have to break it to unplug it and that falls under vandalism. But you might need the landlord's permission to put such a thing in place.

Me? I never needed to go to such extremes.... when I was off at college I had a former buddy that went around telling everyone that I was a crazy Redneck and armed to the teeth. Wasn't true but I found that people left my stuff alone so I wasn't about to make an effort to counter it. (I had two trucks in the parking lot and for awhile a full set of tires on alloy rims stacked up outside my apartment door). :icon_twisted:

So I've got a problem...for some unknown reason whenever I go out to my truck in the morning I find it unplugged. The condo building I live in is comprised mostly of older people. I have never had a beef, confrontation, or problem with anyone, but SOMEONE is unplugging my truck. What in the world should I do?

WTF do you mean unplug your truck???? Do you have the Electric Ranger?

Fail for not reading the post two posts up :P

Maybe you need to put a sign on the next door garage with an arrow pointing down the street that says "BINGO THIS WAY ------------>"
:icon_rofl:
