Oil pump gasket?

Well....................if you use a thin cheap gasket and it deteriorates so a bolt loosens up....................

These are machined thick metal parts so don't warp or have uneven surfaces after disassembly
And they won't leak externally if they did leak a bit

Rocker assembly has an oil passage with no gasket as well, for the same reasons, its not needed, surfaces stay smooth and can't leak externally

I'm with Ron...

Two machined surfaces... if they didn't come with a gasket... don't use a gasket. Torque it properly and forget about it.

In automotive engineering, there’s a failure mode effects analysis process. You have a piece of gasket paper holding back 60 psi of oil pressure. What are the effects of that failing and leaking? Reduction in oil pressure? If we have a soft oil pump body that deforms on installation and makes its own sealing surface, how will that fail and what is the effect of that failure?
