Hey guys, new member to the forum. I just have a couple questions about this particular sensor. Recently I dropped an unknown year 2.9 into my ranger after the 86 motor died a violent death. The biggest differences I saw with the "new" motor are: quick disconnects on the wiring harness, and the intake has a few more vacuum ports back where the brake booster vacuum line comes out.

Anyway, the wires coming off the level sensor on both the new and old motor are broken and I'm not sure where the should go. Can anyone point me to a site, or tell me where I need to run new wires to get the damn light to go out in the dash. Or if theres a way to bypass this sensor. I check my oil religiously so I don't need an idiot light.

presume you're referring to the oil level sensor in the oil pan??

can you just jumper wire the connection back into itself?

Its always a good thing to have a oil level lamp if you have it, just in case.

Ill try to take some photos in the next couple days (its too dark out right now) to show you where the wires wander off to.

final bump, just trying to find out where the wires hook up coming out of the level sensor.
