Tried the OHC install in my '03 a few weeks ago but chickened out about it. The brace in my cab looks different than the one in the tech article, and the bottom of the bracket looked too low to not interfere with the headliner after we screwed it in place (should have taken pics but I didn't) I'm thinking about maybe trying this again sometime and was wondering if anybody who's done this in an '03 had any issues with the cab brace / having gaps between the console and headliner?

I stuffed some peices of foam between the headliner and the roof to push the headliner down around the hole. It worked out perfect.

i just screwed mine in really tight and it pulled up nicely

i installed one in my 01 and it turned out great. what i did was cut the hole smaller than the brace but just enough room to leave the screw holes exposed. this made the brace push the headliner down and there arent any gaps. one thing is you gotta trim the metal near the front in order to clear the push in clips. ive installed a lot of overhead mobile videos in trucks/suvs so doing this helps keep the headliner pushed against the console.

I haven't screwed mine yet but mine had the same thing a gap.
I have been told to screw it up tight but I am going to add some foam up to push down a little.

what I did with mine is instead of installing the bracket from the explorer I cut the slots like the bracket did into the brace that is welded into the ranger and then drilled the rear holes. fits great.
