Offroad Lighting - Whatcha got?

  • Thread starter Thread starter Quartermile

i hung some under my roll bar.

The only issue with hanging them there is that they light up the bed a lot making lots of glare. there are also bumpers that have reverse lights built in you can find.

Here is my front lights two 55w halogens from napa i wired them into my ac switch in the cab cause the ac don't work any more and it was handy.

And my backup lights go in the holes to the outside of the brake lights. i had to take them out because the light and brake inspector didn't like them with water in them. what goes in those holes is just some 75w halogens from interior track lighting that run on 12v dc and mounted in a flush mount side marker grommet. around 2" i think.

guess I should throw mine up here.....3 - 100 watters, all on one switch (40 amp relay). They are floods, use them for driving at night while hunting, and have to see everything in front of me.

Shaweeettt lights! Cool bumper too!

Get some HID's in there and get the pics up! :D

thanks! the bumper is probably my favorite part of the truck, i've hit so much stuff with it, and stuffed it into some dunes offroading without it moving at all.

but i need to find a job before i can get the hid kit, and there's supposed to be one more light in the center.

pro comp 130's H-F work lights

I stopped at harbor freight and picked up a couple of h3 work lights (11.99ea) then stopped by 4whl parts and got 2 8'' 130watts and a pro comp install kit (9400) for 126 tax in. it works so well we went back next day and put exact same on toyota! $152.00 for lights ,wire, relays and switches hard to beat

I've got a set of 9" internal ballast HIDs about to go on with a modified off the shelf prerunner bar. I'll get pics up tomorrow when its done. Can't wait to see the light output.

Mac how is your cooling flow gonna be with 3 lights like that?

4 cheap lights, they only had em with blue lenses so, i had to take em that way.
2 on the EDGE/4x4 bumper and 2 on each side of the license plate, i think they are like 5 or 6 inches.

also replaced the headlight bulbs with blue bulbs(poor man HID LOL)

I have HID heads(about to put the projector lenses in the housings), stock fogs, and these 2 9" HID flood beams. I wish i had spot lenses(if anyone has some hit me up and we'll trade) but these will work for now.

and they are centered and everything is straight... the camera angle was off.

And before anyone says anything, the stock halogen fogs are great along with the HIDs to make the shadows less intense

cooling shouldn't be an issue. if it is, i just have to drive faster lol

imo i'd keep the flood beams. the pencil beams i have are good and all, but i like being able to see what's on the edges of the trail, not just straight in front of me. otherwise, a tree will pop out of nowhere and do this

The fogs do a fairly good job of that... but I'll probably keep floods for a while
