EDIT: Yes, I now have it posted on our facebook page, as well as a page at http://www.therangerstation.com/springroundup/

I'm also going to create an ad poster and use 036speed's truck for the photo (hope he doesn't mind) and see if I can get it posted on Southington's website.

I'm starting to round up the giveaways. I have a $50.00 gift certificate coming from Rock Auto.

I contacted Southington Offroad and asked them about their trails, and was told:

A good majority of the trails on the property (not all) can be navigated with a mild mod rig with a locker and a good driver, there is a good mix of various terrain on the property from rocks to some hills to mud and even some sand.

I wouldn’t classify the facility as a whole as a hardcore playground but I can say that there are plenty of obstacles that will challenge my rig, and I run an old Bronco on tons and 38’s.

I have been playing in the dirt for about 20 years all over the place (Wellsville, Rausch Creek, out West) and I can say that what Southington lacks in serious hardcore offerings, not that there aren't any, it makes up for in amenities and atmosphere. I don’t know of many wheeling spots that I can feel comfortable bringing my wife and family, that’s what makes us just a little bit different than the norm. There is a campground on site with electric, modern bath house and you and your group can grab a hot lunch at our cabin / store.

I studied photos and videos of this place, and saw that there are areas that could challenge most any rig that would attend. Plus, it has the added bonus of bath houses, pavilion, store, and campground with electric to facilitate a good gathering. Now we just have to plan a cookout/lunch in that pavilion!

I use to wheel Wellsville a lot. I'm kind of in the middle between Wellsville and Southington. Maybe a hair closer to Wellsville. I'm actually looking forward to going here instead. Time to broaden the horizon.

the place looks great. actually taken care of. i am down for going. i just hope my truck and me and handle that much abuse. in 9 days i would be wheelin 5 of them lol.

ill be there for shure... only about 40 min. away. ive been there before pretty cool place. hopefully ill have my truck done by then. :icon_welder:

gonna start saving my pennys....518 miles, 8hrs.... 1 way....

l8r, John

The difficulty really comes down to the weather also. If its wet, it can challenge any truck.

This is starting to look like a good turnout. We should seriously consider cooking out at this pavilion Saturday night.

Any grill masters here, or anyone have a grill they can bring?

yea that would be a nice place to cook up some steaks, but instead of a grill im going to be placing my money into my truck lol, im passing up the all ford nationals in PA and the king of trucks show here in syracuse NY for this trail run, hopefully its a good turn out and my truck holds up sat & sun, i need it to drive back home haha

My 17 year old daughter has mentioned a couple of times that she wants to go on this ride. I've taken her off-road a few times, and let her drive my Ranger in the field behind my house, but she's only been on a trail ride with me once.

I know she would love to have her own truck just for off-roading, but I have to get a car for my son this year. He's about to turn 16, and isn't interested in off-roading. He wants a Camaro.

If I built a truck for off-road racing, and told my daughter I wanted her to race it, she wouldn't even hesitate.

Still think that would be a great guest appearance for the banner, long as it gets sent on its way to KW after.
