My credo
If you can't go through it or around it, then go over it.
I found the OBD1 scanner I bought for my explorer. I haven't seen this thing for 5 years. I can't find the book and I don't remember how to run the tests? anybody know?

Yeah, you just plug it into the two connectors and cycle the key to Run for the KOER/Continuous tests, or start the truck (neutral, a/c off) to run KOER. For what it's worth, it's just as easy to slide a paperclip between the single pin connector and the top right pin of the large EEC-IV connector and watch the CEL.

I bought this before i found TRS.

I know. It wasn't meant as an insult, just pointing out that even if you have one it may not be worth fooling with. I have one floating around somewhere that I bought about ten years ago but haven't even bothered to try to look for it. I just keep a paperclip in the drivers door pocket for when the need arises.

I used mine and its worth it, as my test port is underhood by the pass side and I hate walking back and forth.

I don't follow - how do you avoid walking back and forth when you still have to cycle the key? As far as I can tell I don't move any more now than I did when using the scanner.
