Number on spindle

I'm trying to get a new spindle. The auto parts stores all say it's discontinued and I would have to get one from Six States Distributors. I called them and they want a number off the spindle flange. Does anybody have one laying around they can read the number off of? It's for a 1996 ranger with ABS and manual hubs.

Thats what i was thinking. ive pulled quite a few in the yard on trucks that were sitting in the sand with no wheels, its not too hard. out of curiosity how much does a new one go for?

There are many junkyards around, with used spindles available.

I just wanted to know the price of a new one also, but they can't tell me unless I produce this number to them.

I probably will end up getting one from a junkyard in the end, but if a new one isn't too much more, i'm going to buy it new.

I know last time I priced one out for a customer's 97 ranger at the dealership I work it it was over $500 candian....

Needless to say we ended up getting a used one.

Are you looking for the "spindle" (the tube axle)
or the Steering knuckle that the "spindle" bolts to?

The "Spindle" from a 1993-94 Explorer (these all have ABS)
or an ABS Ranger/B3000/B4000 1993-97 will work

ALL the steering knuckles are drilled for the ABS sensor
the spindles are NOT.

I am looking for the number on the spindle itself to present to the guys at Six States distributors to see if they carry it and how much a new one is.

I keep going though bearings and the last time I had it apart I thought I could feel a slight ridge where the outer bearing rides and there was a lot of metal flakes in the grease. Bearings are only lasting a few miles before they start vibrating at around 35-40 mph up to 55 or so, then it mellows out again. I've put several thousand miles on these spindles with vibrating bearings and feel if I replace them it would fix my problem.

I believe I overtightened the bearings at one time and that's what scored the spindles.
