Ok, so most of you are aware of my t-case problems. The electric clutch not engaging the front end, but the shift motor does work.

I was told by the oil change dude that my t-case fluid is too high.

When I put the truck up on the jackstands a while back, all 4 wheels were turning, but the front would take a while to catch up to the same speed as the rear.

Would the high fluid cause this?

I know I can just go out and drain the fluid and see for myself, but draining the fluid is a major pain in the ass for me right now because it's cold and I have nowhere to put the fluid once it's in the drain pan.

So if someone thinks it would work...then I'd be more willing to go through the pain in the ass messing with the fluids.

remove fill plug on the transfer case, if fluid pours out u have to much, if its just below the hole then ur good, and i wouldnt trust the advice of someone u pay 25 to change ur oil when it comes to pure mechanics.

and no, that will in no way whatsoever effect the operation of the case

Yeah...I was assuming that high fluid level would do the same thing as having too much in your trans and make it slip....since it's an electric clutch(boo!)

Thanks for the info.

:bawling: I feel neglected from that statement.

If your Ranger is a 1999 model, it should still have the vacuum hubs. You may want to check those out.

Edit** Scratch that, your info bar says 1999 Explorer.
