(Not an RBV) My Dakota.

Just finished ordering a metric ton of parts for this project. Putting in 1 piece stainless valves, stronger valve springs, billet double roller timing set, FelPro MLS headgaskets, ARP head bolts, ect. Should be able to hit 6k easy (stock valves and springs limit me to 5500RPM) and run 10PSI+ boost (limited by tranny strength at this point). I'm expecting a ~20 HP jump at the same boost level on the dyno with the new turbo. I'm also removing the front axle.

Keeping the t-case, it'll go if I ever do a tranny swap. But front axle, driveshaft and inner CV shafts are going, the CV stubs need to be kept in so the unit wheel bearings are held together.

A spy shot, complete with obligatory foot.

I see you got it secured on the mill well enough. That's good to see.

I finished it up after work today and Woody hung out and helped.

And the "assembled" turbo.

Looking good, did you remember to grab the old turbo from the shop when you left today?

Yeah I got it.

A little hotside mock-up today, making sure the -12 drain doesn't interfere. Hopefully I can run the cold side this way too but it may interfere with the dipstick.

Damn, tough crowd lately

Comparison of the undivided T4 flange that will be going on vs the T3 divided flange currently on the truck, it works but damn it's small for a motor this size.

Hopefully my heads show up this week so I can assemble them and check out the valve job and have them machined if they're not satisfactory, then hopefully in the next couple weeks I can get it in the shop and start tearing it apart.

Assembled the boost factory today, everything looks and feels good. It ain't no shiny new Turbonetics but it should outperform one :icon_thumby:

Heads are currently at the machinist for a valve job and surfacing.

Drove down to the bus shop this morning and evacuated the AC. The didn't get it into the shop till 3:30 but dammit the motor's out.

The whole reason for pulling the motor.

Just had to check the cold side/down pipe interference, looks like it's good to go.

So today I bored out my 1/2"NPT to -12an adapter so it's -12 size all the way through, it had a nice step down for the NPT part which defeats the purpose of using a big fat -12 oil drain setup.

Then I welded up my -10an breather fitting into the valve cover, used a piece of 16 gauge steel to cover the big factory breather hole, the fitting is welded on the bottom.

Then I came home and spent of bunch of time degreasing shit, removed the front axle and the exhaust/turbo shit.
