Motor locked up on my moms 98 mercury villager front wheel drive. I am going to pull the motor to swap it out. The question is how do i remove the transmission since i cant turn the crank pulley to take out the fly wheel to torque converter

Neither a RBV or a Ford.

Can you get the oil pan off? If you can, start loosening rods/mains until it turns.

That.

The only Ford part on that vehicle is the radio.

As for how to get the engine out... Set the sub frame and outer steering on jack stands and get the body up off of it.

Like so:

Best way is to drop the subframe. I actually have a rolling platform made up to do that. Set the car on that and then when everything is loose I lift the car with a chainfall & wheel the transaxle out. Much easier to work on out of the vehicle.
