Nor Cal chat thread

yea i heard this storm should be pretty good if it actually materailizes. time for good skiing.

been doing a little bit of wheeling around auburn, there is a crapload of water in the mudholes!

damn i dont want water, i want snow!

morg yesterday it was all rain up at like 8k feet. the resorts got rain. sucks but at least we are getting liquid!

dhkonrad where do you go wheeling at in auburn?

Nothing hardcore, but behind the auburn airport and across Bell RD from that off new airport along the RR tracks.

oh ok nice. my buddy lives in new castle and we can get to the tracks right from his driveway basically. we go out there quite a bit, but I work for the railroad so I have to be careful about getting in trouble down there.

newcastle is literally 4 min from where i live! never been out by the tracks...but apparently there is some good wheeling out at the end of Clark Tunnel, Lo Mida, rattlesnake bar & out in Rocklin almost to 65 somewhere

It was always my impression they didn't really care as long as you aren't tearing up the gravel itself, is that wrong?

thats what ben thought till we got caught by placer county sherriff on his birthday. we were shooting and on our way out we got stopped. cops were chill though and just told us to not be back there.

we still go out there, I just tend to stay where the PD wont go. for the most part you are fine out there. if I am on a dirt bike or quad I am not worried at all, in my truck, its a little different. I probably wont shoot down there too much, but im not worried about wheeling. if you go in at new castle there is some fun stuff. a few hill climbs and lots of mud. havent been up more than a mile or 2 tho. up in colfax there is a tooooooon of stuff to wheel tho. I would like to find some spots closer to me if possible tho.

i wanna explore alot of that this summer.

Naw 4x4 is overrated, I got tons of places with a 2wd that people around with 4wd couldnt get, you just need a posi and a freakin lead foot and never let off.
