You ever do any gold panning down in the river bottoms? My buddy's wanting to do some prospecting and I was thinking we might try the river bottoms tomorrow. How far up (north) can we go in the creek?

a lot of guys dredge the bottoms, you can do it, and as to how far up it goes from where we were shooting not all that much further, just maybe a half mile or so before it pinches off. there are a few different places you can go out there tho. just dont go below hells gates which is where the creek goes through a cliff that makes it so you have to drive up around the hill side.

this is true. as far as panning you should be able to pan anywhere in california except on someones claim.

yeah basically, I would have to drive to places like montana and the dakotas and other places close to the mississippi, in my own vehicle, work for 8 days and then have 6 days off in which to drive to the next location. in my own vehicle. I would get gas money, but yeah **** that, not gonna waste my life away and my vehicles for that matter too.

Sounds like a great opportunity. Traveling on the companies dime, getting per-dium for living, seeing some country that you may never get a chance to see again. Then getting a week off to do what ever you want.
