Nomenclature of the rolly thingies

Who cares?!?!?!? The words were using to describe the aluminum and rubber things that go between the vehicle and the road were once used to describe wood and steel versions on wagons. Maybe it’s time to make up new words.

"We're"

The guy in the quote I included. C'mon, man. You know how this works.

What is “this”? You didn’t specify what “this” is.

We’re on page 2... Nothing “works” anymore. I’m surprised that we’re not talking about fishing, the density of styrofoam, or replacing a barn roof yet.

This thread definitely went drifting pretty quickly. Not a record. But close.

Speaking of roofs.

I got a new steel roof on my house recently, replaced the old slate roof that was heavily damaged by fall tree branches. Took over a year to find someone who was even willing to do the job. Everyone wanted me to strip and and sheet it and they would come lay some asphalt shingles on it.... yeah, ok guy, thanks.

Have some missing shingles on the garage again, need to get up there one day with a bundle be fore it starts leaking again.

I don’t understand what the big deal is. I’ve installed a metal roof before. It’s not that hard. With the right tools, it’s pretty darn easy and less back breaking.

Or are they worried your roof will never go bad and they won’t get repeat business?

They didn't want to rip the slate off or have to make any repairs to the eaves/ soffits. They just wanted to roll in and slap down a bunch of shingles.

Had to find a bigger outfit that does a lot of work on older houses.

To be fair, neither did I, that's why I was trying to find someone to do it for me.

I would also like to know how to pronounce tomato.

Toe-May-Toe

Unless your English then Toe-Mah-Toe.

You know the people who can't say aluminum correctly.
