no start

my .02

while your changing your starter go through and clean up the connections and retighten them as needed

also check the wires them selves for being ruined from the inside out

still trying to avoid buying a new starter so i took tom and smokeaters advice a little more seriously than i think he meant it and went through and loosened, cleaned, and re-tightened all connections and even hooked up a load tester at the terminal on the starter. she read good at 12V and 1200amps! looks like I'm buying a starter

tracked down a starter about an hour ago and i am pleased to say the truck is running again! great deal too $160 for a reman motorcraft with a lifetime warranty

I remember the time a customer's car was towed in for a "bad Starter"

Battery tested good.
Ammeter indicated that the starter was drawing 200amps on "crank" but the engiine wasn't turning

Put a breaker bar on the crank nut and BROKE a 24" breaker bar (I told the guy at sears "I am unsatisfied" and he handed me another)

the engine was very solidly seized.

I told the customer and she send her son down I handed him
the breaker bar and told him to "knock himself out"... He tried turning the engine and started giggling unconttrollably.... handed me my breaker bar and left without another word, 25minutes later he comes back with a 5th of Bushmills a case of beer and hands me the signed title says: "Junk it" and leaves.. as he's walking away I ask "if you've got a sister with an attitude like yours I'll marry her sight unseen" that sets off another giggling fit and he replies "I don't but she'd probably be as dumb as a box of rocks like my Mom"...

It wasn't the last car that she drove into the ground...
