No Start on 1996 Ford Ranger

everything that I have read thus far screams to me bad cables/ grounds. Do the test that Dirtman posted a few posts above, you probably have bad cables

When was the last time it ran.....and what has been done since that time?
If it has never run for you. Pull the plugs and see if you can get the engine to spin/rotate/turn over whatever you want to call it.
With the plugs out you should be able to turn the engine over by turning the fan blades by hand. If you do this make sure the belts aren't just slipping.

It's a manual trans, just put it in 4th gear and rock it back and forth. Pulling the plugs the first is a good idea in case it's hydrolocked.

Replace both battery cables, not just the ends the whole cable, Positive and Negative, and clean the surfaces where they bolt to the vehicle systems

With the plugs out, you should be able to turn the engine via the bot that holds the harmonic balancer to the crank shaft. Assuming you have the right sized socket to fit the bolt.

Rule goes for any new battery as it "learns" and has a memory.a decent battry charger will take a battery to 14.2 maybe with matchin amps whereas an alt system in a car goes to 13.6 maybe not even that, bikes even less, plus theres no accounting for how long a battery has been sittin on a shelf... I've fixed many an electrical problem by addin grounds like i said and puttin in a 1000 amp battery where the previous put in a new 400 amp battery and would have to jump it off every time, his excuse? Its a new battery it should be fine,lol... Always apply the kiss principle when it comes to electrical, and remember 96 and newer vehicle have an OBD port...
