Ok, I have had some more time to work on my no start 1994 Ranger 4.0 V6. So far I found that there were numerous things wrong, from a bad ECU to a corroded engine wiring harness. I have achieved fuel injection, but I still can't for the life of me get the EDIS module to produce a spark. I have tested the crank position sensor both on the bench and in the truck and I'm getting a fairly consistent signal. (From what I can tell with a volt meter) I have also confirmed 12V at the coil pack in both key on and start as well as hotwiring the EDIS module to have guaranteed 12v and ground. I also tried removing the three data pins from the ECU to try and force the EDIS into limp mode (10degree timing) but to no avail. While the key was out, I also checked the ground pin to the EDIS module and found it wasn't grounded. Since it goes through the ECU I don't know if it has to be on to ground properly. I also found that the coil wires are consistently grounded when the EDIS module is powered or engine cranking. I'm not sure if that is normal or if they should be open. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also please talk me out of just 302 swapping this with carb.
Coil pack New/Works
Spark plugs Solid ok
Plug Wires Good
EDIS Module 1 New and 1 old both tested (1 should be good unless I killed it
)
Crank position sensor Looks new and provides voltage both on bench and in truck
