No power to fuel pumps

more shit going wrong on this peicer. I'm back home on leave to visit and get this 88 B2 and it wont start. its obvious why, no fuel. Neither the main or tank pump turn on when the key is turned on. Flicked it on and off a bunch of times, checked connections at the pumps. I'm going to assume its not getting power. not just one or the other.. both. What should I check first.
I'm going to assume it can only be a few things?


Note: this just randomly happened. Ran one day my dad said, he went to start it a few days later and nothing.

pulled the carpet up, inertia switch is not tripped. tried pushing on the button anyways, didnt do anything. there is 2 relays under the hood on passenger firewall, one green plug, one brown. The relay on my green plug is new. The other... not so much. is the brown plug related with fuel pumps?

Yes. The brown is PCM power relay.

It supplies power to the FP relay, so if it is bad, no power gets to PCM or FP relay.

Does that model have a CEL? If so, when key to Run, is CEL on? If not, PCM relay could be bad, but it could also be a bad gound. Check the one from block to WS wiper motor bolt, battery to rad support and any on the fenderwell, under the hood.

yes this truck has CEL. but it just turns on then off like usual. I will try to replace this relay. Is there anything i can jump on that plug to bypass the relay, to ensure this is the problem?

replaced the relay, started right up. Thanks for the little bit of help

For the searchers: http://www.the12volt.com/relays/relays.asp is a good link to show the pin configuration of relays. Typcally, you jumper 87 to 30 to bypass a removed relay and send power to where it needs to go. Sorry i didn't see your post sooner, this info is what you asked for.
